Me, in my dorky sweats
Winter's chill long soaked through
I'm heading to the field
To fling iron at the grass.

Fifteen in the fourth hour
And a new challenge comes.
To me, it seems slightly
As though I may achieve.

I'm bringing my hand back.
Arm strong and straight, it rests.
Like gripping Winter's spear
I throw it like it a ball.

Some kind of runner's high
For those who do not run,
But who stand to throw shafts
Aiming for Winter's clouds.

Weightless, a creature from above
Eyes a-glowing, see signal of

The pen, the wand, the bird's wings flap
Drawn into Inspiration's grasp

Heterochromia 50 Fansby ~Konayashi

A silly, celebratory picture for Heterochromia hitting the 50 fan mark on SmackJeeves. Pretty modest by the standard of how many fans comics like Toilet Genie have, but I'm pleased with it; it's certainly more people interested in it than if I were going print-only.

Although most of my art is up for critique, I wouldn't bother with this one. I've been re-evaluating my art a lot lately, and realized that, in trying to make sure that my pieces are perfect at every step of the process, I usually become too bogged down and never finish (see: Chapter 2 cover). I kind of wanted to just finish it and do the part that should interest me the most, but that I rarely get to because I fiddle with the lines so long: color! I love color, but am so inexperienced with it (another thing you can probably tell from this sketch).
